The Reawakened American Empire
This substack believes that 2026 will mark the beginning of President Trump’s Golden Age, in which technological acceleration, coupled with sound, America First industrial policy, will drive explosive economic growth. The data support this: last quarter’s GDP grew 4.3%, while labor productivity grew 4.9% during the same period. Both numbers are the best we’ve seen in years! But it appears President Trump is going one step further, seeking to reawaken and empower the American Empire. Reasserting the Monroe Doctrine, President Trump is abandoning the rules-based international order that the globalists of America and Europe set up post-WWII.
In just the past few days:
The U.S. military brilliantly captured the Venezuelan dictator, Nicolas Maduro, from Caracas without sustaining one casualty. He awaits trial in New York City.
President Trump and Secretary Rubio have explicitly stated that Venezuelan oil will now benefit both the Venezuelan people and the United States.
Two days ago, the U.S. Coast Guard, in conjunction with the British military, boarded a sanctioned Russian oil tanker in the North Atlantic. This action, while provocative, demonstrates this administration's resolve to enforce the rules and red lines it's drawn around Venezuela.
Next week, Secretary Rubio will meet with Greenlandic and Danish officials to discuss the possibility that the United States acquires Greenland. President Trump wants Greenland for their rare earth minerals and their strategic location near the Arctic so the U.S. military can secure the region from Russian and Chinese aggression.
Yesterday, President Trump announced his intention to increase the 2027 defense budget to a whopping $1.5 trillion, a 50% increase over the current budget. This would help fund both the Golden Dome missile defense system and the Golden Fleet, a U.S. Navy initiative to modernize and expand our current naval fleet.
Taken together, the actions of the past week show that President Trump is committed to American expansion and to a public display of hard power. Taken in conjunction with President Trump’s explicit embrace of the Monroe Doctrine, the message is clear: America will dominate the Western Hemisphere once again. Hostile regional countries to the United States will be dealt with so they align with American interests. And our adversaries in Russia and China are now on notice that their economic and military influence will not be tolerated in our sphere of influence.
